MEA Achieve Gold Reading Award

Prospere Learning Trust is incredibly proud of Manchester Enterprise Academy for achieving the Gold One Education Reading Award.

This prestigious recognition reflects the passion, hard work and deep commitment of the MEA team in building a successful reading curriculum and fostering a strong reading culture across the school. MEA are the first school in the Trust to achieve the Gold award.

The reviewer praised MEA’s bespoke intervention programme, highlighting its strength in tailoring support to individual needs:

"Your bespoke approach to supporting all individuals is so impressive and showcases your dedication to improving reading outcomes for every child. I can only imagine the work, training, and organisation that goes into delivering this offer."

Equally impressive was the whole-school commitment to embedding reading across all subjects. Staff across disciplines have worked together to develop pupils’ vocabulary and reading confidence:

"Another strength is the application of a whole-school approach to reading across the disciplines, with a real focus on strengthening vocabulary and pupils being the 'boss' of their reading skills. This is apparent across all subjects with support from all staff."

Special commendation was also given to MEA’s librarian, Amy Brookes, for her outstanding work in creating rich opportunities that inspire a love of reading:

"I am so impressed with the work of your librarian. The opportunities and experiences, as well as the resources, clubs, and author visits that are in place, are astounding!"

MEA is also now recognised as a FFT Reciprocal Reading Partner School, and there is potential for the school to become a *One Education Beacon School* — further testament to the impact and quality of its reading provision.
