On 11 December, Trust schools came together at Pear Tree High School for a truly special occasion—the retirement celebration of our CEO, marking the close of an incredible 38-year career dedicated to education and improving the lives of young people.
The event was designed to reflect what has always been at the heart of Linda’s work: children and their success. It was a celebration of our students and the schools across the Trust. Performances showcased the remarkable talent and creativity of our young people—from Grange School’s witty “Linda Actually” inspired by Love Actually, to stunning piano recitals from Chorlton High and Pioneer House, choral and signed performances from Piper Hill, Camberwell Park, Orchard House, Pear Tree and Prospect House, solos from MEA Central and Pioneer, and a beautiful poem from MEA. Their energy reminded us why Linda has led with such passion and purpose. The finale was nothing short of magical, complete with confetti cannons, a snow machine, and even real reindeer!
Executive Heads Andy Park and Dave Bell delivered heartfelt speeches, sharing milestones from Linda’s journey and the profound impact of her leadership. The Chair of Trustees reflected on the legacy she leaves behind—a culture where children and young people remain at the centre of everything we do.
One message resonated throughout the event: Linda’s unwavering commitment to placing children first. This principle has shaped our Trust and will continue to guide us into the future.
Attendance was limited to those who have worked most closely with Linda, ensuring the celebration reflected the personal connections and shared achievements that have defined her leadership. We appreciate everyone’s understanding and invite you to join us in celebrating her incredible contribution.
We thank Linda for her vision, dedication, and the countless lives she has touched. Her influence will be felt for generations to come.
Thank you to Grange and their team who created a magical space and organised this wonderful event.
