Pear Tree Launches The Drip Café

On Friday 10th July Pear Tree High School in Cheadle, Stockport, officially opened the brand new Drip Cafe. 

The new café provides an exciting and inclusive space at the heart of the school, offering students valuable opportunities to develop communication, employability and life skills in a real-world environment.

Designed to be much more than a place to grab a drink, The Drip Café has been created as a learning hub where students can build confidence, gain practical experience and interact with staff, peers and visitors. Through activities such as preparing refreshments, serving customers, handling transactions and maintaining the café environment, students can develop important skills that will support their future independence and employment aspirations.

The opening marks another significant step in Pear Tree's commitment to providing meaningful, hands-on learning experiences that help every young person thrive. The café has already become a welcoming social space where relationships can be strengthened and achievements celebrated.

The café reflects Pear Tree's vision of preparing students for life beyond school through ambitious, personalised learning opportunities. As students take on a range of roles within the café, they are developing teamwork, communication, customer service and problem-solving skills while serving the school community.
