Consultation to increase the number of pupils on roll at Orchard House
What are we planning to do?
Increase the number of pupils that can attend the school from 150 to 250. This would be an increase of 100 pupils.
Why do we want to make this change?
The LA have requested that we provide spaces for additional pupils in order to meet demand for children with special educational needs living in Manchester. They have a statutory duty to provide sufficient, appropriate school places.
In providing space for the additional pupils the school would be able to develop the site to benefit existing pupils. This is because the LA would provide funding to develop the current campus. This development would see an expansion of the current building and improved outdoor education and play areas. Without these additional funds we would not be able to afford this site development.
