Schools across our Trust have had a great start to the term with students ready to learn and full of enthusiasm.  Our staff were excited to welcome back familiar faces for the start of the 2022-23 school year and welcome our new cohort of students who participated in engaging transition programmes to help them adapt to life in their new schools.

Pioneer House High School began the term with a wonderful celebration as they achieved Skills Builder ‘Flagship Status’ and are one of the first schools in the country to earnt his award!  Having earned the Skills builder ‘Gold award’ in 2021 for dedication to employability skills education, Pioneer House has been further recognised for their contributions, supportive work and impact with organisations and educational providers across Greater Manchester and beyond.

It has been a very busy and exciting start to the school year at Prospect House Primary. The school moved into their brand-new premises on the 4th of May with 50 children and as of September, have grown to a cohort of 80 children. Governors, staff, parents/carers and children have waited in anticipation for this auspicious moment. We are incredibly proud of how well the children have managed the transition and how well they are settling into life at Prospect House.

MEA Central’s new cohort of Year 7s are already living the school values and the school has successfully changed to one lunch sitting serving all 1200 students!

Many of our schools saw renovation work over the summer holiday and Grange were pleased to return to a freshly decorated corridors and a brand new ‘Quad Pod’ which is part of the development of a bespoke resource library and learning space. Students can have a quiet space to read or work, while at the same time a group of students can be working together as part of their subject carousel, sharing content through social media platforms, and engaging in their learning through discussion and debate. The Quad-Pods are already a huge hit with the students!

On only their second day in high school at CHS South, 6 enthusiastic Year 7 students were recorded by the BBC for Newsround, which was aired on Tuesday 7th September. The group were chosen for impressing their History teacher in lesson with their articulate answers. With great professionalism, they spoke about the new Prime Minister, Liz Truss, giving her advice on her new leadership role. We can only hope that she was listening!

A positive start to 2022-23
